"I really appreciated that UW Creative was so flexible at each stage of the project. They knew the technological limits of our end users and that we don't have a lot of money to spend. But even with these challenges, they helped us develop an excellent product that would have cost three times as much with a for-profit firm."

About the Toolkit:
The CHART Training Toolkit provides a variety of resources for trainers and curriculum developers to help them plan and deliver training for HIV/AIDS healthcare providers in countries hardest hit by the AIDS epidemic.

Scope of Project:
Develop a CD containing a series of training documents for under-resourced AIDS clinics in Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Namibia, Ethiopia, Botswana, and South Africa.
Challenges:
Computer hardware, software and operating systems vary greatly, but most will be no older than 1996 and most will use DOS with Windows software. Most clinics are without internet access.
Strategies:
Build a browser-based interface using CSS for the widest user access to the resource. Design a user-friendly and colorful interface to enhance navigation and engage the users.
Accomplishment:
The final CD contains over 180 HTML pages linking to over 500 separate resource files. It was tested for usability, accessibility and content in the field.
