Special Room Rentals

Health Sciences Lobby, the Rotunda Foyer, D210 in the E-court , the T469 Lounge, and the Vista Court Cafe and Patio.

  • Food is allowed in these spaces.
    Exception: Under no circumstances is food, drink, or food preparation allowed in the Vista Café food prep or kitchen areas. A fine may be charged by Housing and Food Services if this occurs.
  • Catered functions are permitted per UW Environmental Health and Safety regulations, and food must be prepared from a licensed kitchen.
  • If you are not using University Catering, an application for Temporary Food Service Event must be completed and returned to Environmental Health and Safety at least two weeks prior to the event.
  • Potlucks, home-prepared food, and barbeques are not permitted.
  • Groups are responsible for making sure all trash is cleared from spaces they have used. A group may clean the space itself or contract with Custodial Services, 685-1500, for cleaning services. Room rental fees do not cover this cost.
  • Alcohol can be served in T469 and the I-court Rotunda provided a license/permit from the Washington State Liquor Control Board is posted.
    • A liquor permit application must be signed by the Program Coordinator of Classroom Services and submitted to the Use of University Facilities Committee before obtaining a banquet permit.
    • Food and non-alcoholic beverages must be available when serving alcohol.
  • Alcohol is not permitted in the foyer area of the Rotunda, D210, the Vista Café seating area, or the Vista Café Patio during normal building hours (7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday).
  • Groups using the HS Lobby or the Vista Cafe seating area that wish to have the furniture moved or removed must contact Trucking Services: http://www.washington.edu/admin/pts/
  • T469 is the only public student lounge in the building, so on weekdays during the academic quarter events can only be scheduled after 3:30pm.
  • D210 and the Vista Cafe & Patio can only be scheduled when the cafes are not open. Currently events can only be scheduled after 3:30 pm.
  • The raised circle dining area of the Rotunda,which includes all of the tables and chairs in this space, is reserved through the UW Catering Office <http://hfs.washington.edu/catering/>
  • The Rotunda foyer (non-raised floor area) is reserved by Classroom Services. Groups needing tables and chairs for this area can contact Classroom Services to reserve this.
  • The building is locked after hours, on the weekends, and holidays. If space is reserved during these times, be sure to request for specific doors to the building to be unlocked for your event.
