answer: Two business days AFTER proofing on our daily poster papers. Specialty materials take longer; mounting and laminating: add one day. - Why do I need a printed proof?
answer: Printed proofs show how the file will print when processed by our printer software> It’s "cheap insurance" (read more about proofs). - What material should I use?
answer: Longevity, durability, dark or light colors, photos, size all contribute to your choice of material (read more) - What will it cost?

answer: We accept UW budgets #s (all prices listed are for budget payments). For nonbudget payments, add a 15.6% (overhead) charge. We accept payment by MasterCard, Visa or check. checks.If you pay with a check
, your payment will be processed by Student Fiscal Services (SFS) at the UW. SFS processes checks electronically using the information on the check to create an electronic funds transfer. Each time you send a check, you authorize a one-time electronic transfer where funds will be withdrawn from your bank account. You will not receive your cancelled checks because SFS is required to destroy the check after it has been processed. For more information or to stop the conversion of your check into an electronic funds transfer, please contact SFS at (2060) 543-4694 or by email at sfshelp@u.washington.edu.
- What fonts do you support?
answer: all fonts that come with Windows XP, Mac OSX, and all fonts in Adobe Creative suite 2 (CS2) - If you use a font NOT on our list, save the file with fonts embedded, or
- make a pdf or eps file,
- or save as curves or paths.
- Can ship my poster?
answer: Yes, by UPS within the US. - UPS and durable cardboard tube charges will be added to your bill.
- How can I place my order?
answer: Place order online or come to T-271 in Health Sciences Center T-wing. - Should I laminate my poster?
answer: Lamination can help protect your poster from fingerprints, weather, damage, fading. We offer gloss or lustre finish. - Unmounted posters:
Front-surface only rollable lamination is available for posters in either gloss or lustre finish. It is flexible enough so the poster can fit in a tube, but does not protect the back.
Encapsulation laminate covers both sides of the poster, is stiffer, and offers greater protection by sealing the edges (non-mounted posters) making them more weather-proof. - Mounted posters: lamination can be applied over a poster at the time the poster is being mounted.
- Who can use your services?
answer: Our Use Policy states "Poster production serves the University of Washington faculty, staff and students; UW affiliates; city, county , and State of Washington agencies; and the Federal government. Due to state regulations we do not provide services to the general public." - Why are the colors different from what’s on my computer?
answer: There are many variables in the process. If color is important a contract proof is the way to check and make adjustments. Color matching by production staff takes time so there is a fee for this. - Why do you recommend Powerpoint? Can I use a different program?
answer: Powerpoint is widely available and easier to use than some more sophisticated graphics programs. (Also look at #1 and #2 above.) - How can I get a UW logo?
