Access to UW Facilities, Networks and Information Systems
What You Will Need, and How You Will Get It:
After your admission is processed you will receive a packet containing important forms and information to help you get set up to access the many resources at the UW. (You may not receive this packet if you're already a UW employee or student.)
- UWNetID Account
You will receive a form containing a one-time Personal Access Code (PAC) and instructions that will allow you to set up your UWNetID account.- You should do this as soon as possible -Your UWNetID establishes an official UW email account for you and is also required for login to password-protected UW systems such as MyUW and online library resources. Help with UWNetID and UW email or computing issues is available from the UW Computing and Communications Help Center at 206-543-5970

You will receive your UW Student Number. Your UW student number is important for registration, arranging parking and many other identification purposes. - UW Student ID Card
You should also receive your UW student ID card. Your student ID card serves as your UW library card and bus pass (if you participate in the U-Pass program). It also identifies you as a registered student which allows you to take advantage of the IMA facilities and receive student discounts on software such as SPSS (which you might want to purchase for use in your BIOST 502/503 courses.) - MyUW
MyUW provides secure online access to student services such as paying tuition, receiving grades for your courses and using WebPine to log in to your UW email account. MyUW requires that you login using your UWNetID and password.

The University of Washington Library system The library has purchased licenses for online access to hundreds of professional journals and online databases. Many of these licensed resources will require you to login using your UWNetID to identify yourself as a UW student before being given access.
