Registering for Courses
The Extended MPH Degree Program manages course registrations differently than in-residence programs. Students are required to fill out a course registration form each quarter and submit it directly to the EXDP Program Office. The EXDP program staff processes registrations and enters tuition charges into the university system.
Registration is an ongoing process that is generally completed at least 1 week before the quarter begins. At that point, students should all be able to log in to MyUW to check course registrations and pay their tuition.
When you are ready to actually begin registering for Thesis or Project credits, you must first submit a contract reporting your Thesis/Project committee arrangements to the EXDP program office. The committee chair must confirm your contract before your registration will be accepted.

The email must include the following:
- Name, email and phone number for each of the initial committee members.
- Initial title of your proposed project or thesis
- Contract for your project
- Contract for your thesis
At the beginning of each quarter in which you register for Thesis or Project credits, you must report to your committee and the EXDP program office both your progress and your intent to register for credits.

The email must include the following:
- Brief outline of the goals, tasks and timeline for the quarter
- Number of Thesis or Project credits registered for the quarter
- Quarterly Authorization for project or thesis contract
When you are ready register for Practicum credits, you must first submit a practicum agreement to the EXDP program office for approval. The practicum director must confirm your agreement is approved before your registration will be accepted.

At the beginning of each quarter in which you have arranged to register for Independent Study credits, you must be report to the faculty member supervising your Independent study and the EXDP program office both your study plans and your intent to register for credits.
Send an email cc'ing your Faculty Supervisor to: uwedp2@u.washington.edu
The email must include the following:
- Brief outline of the goals, tasks and timeline for the quarter
- Number of Independent Study credits registered for the quarter
- Quarterly Authorization for independent study contract
ExDP students who are not registered for classes and not yet finished with their thesis/project, should submit the linked form below to ExDP with a $35 check, BEFORE the beginning of the quarter. Failure to do so will result in a loss of library privileges and may also impact your UW email account.
ExDP students may register for up to 3 credits maximum from elective courses not offered by ExDP. To ensure applicability to Program Requirements, students must seek appoval of elective course work prior to registration.

- Course work must be taken at an accredited University of College
- Must be 400-600 level graduate courses
- and May not have counted toward a previous degree.
- Authorization form for taking elective courses outside of ExDP.
