Equity, Public Health and Active Transportation

School of Public Health students in the Community-Oriented Public Health Practice program worked on two projects in different Seattle communities for Seattle Neighborhood Greenways. One group supported Rainier Valley Greenways by studying signal timing, activity and pedestrian perceptions on Rainier Avenue S and NW Market Street. The second group sought to understand the identity of Lake City's Little Brook neighborhood and provided Lake City Greenways with recommendations for including residents from this neighborhood in their efforts to promote safety for all road users.

Community members interested in the areas of social justice, built environment, urban planning and public health are strongly encouraged to attend.
