Majora Carter is an internationally renowned urban revitalization strategy consultant, real estate developer, and an award winning eco-entrepreneur. She is responsible for the creation and successful implementation of numerous green-infrastructure projects, policies, and job training and placement systems.
Ms. Carter, a 2005 MacArthur "genius" Fellow, served as executive director of Sustainable South Bronx for 7 years, where she pushed both for eco-friendly practices including, green and cool roofs and, equally important, job training & placement systems and green-related economic development for her vibrant neighborhood on the rise. Since leaving SSBx in 2008, Ms. Carter has led the consulting firm, Majora Carter Group LLC, bringing her pioneering approach to communities far outside the South Bronx.
