(Web page for registered students) This course is the second in a 2-course sequence of health services financial management. The emphasis is on preparing clinical executives for managerial and leadership in their healthcare organizations. The content builds on the foundation of the first course, which stressed the principles of financial and managerial accounting, budgeting, and basic business structures and planning in health services. Those perspectives and techniques were largely retrospective in nature reporting and evaluating the consequences of past decisions. This second course focuses on the tools and analytic frameworks that health care managers use to make prospective, forward-looking decisions.
