As of Spring 2008, this course is no longer in the Department of Health Services and will now be offered by Global Health (gh514). Looks at determinants of population health in different countries, to learn about the constraints of typical public health and development paradigms. Topics include colonialism, development and underdevelopment, political economy, culture, health behaviors, hierarchy, health care and medical harm. Prerequisite: experience working in a health program.
