Gretchen Murphy has been a member of the faculty since 1992 and serves as the Director of the Health Information Administration Program. Gretchen Murphy has worked in the Health Informatics and Health Information Management field for many years. She worked with hospitals, long term care organizations and served as project director for information systems projects for electronic health record initiatives. She has co-authored 3 textbooks, several contributed chapters and numerous articles in the field. Her major research interests are in developing national standards for electronic health records where she has been active for 15 years.
