Eva Hom Publishes MPH Thesis on HIA in Criminal Justice System
Health Services MPH alumna Eva Hom, MSW, MPH has published her MPH thesis, "A Systematic Review of Health Impact Assessments in the Criminal Justice System," in the American Journal of Criminal Justice, with the guidance of Dr. Andy Dannenberg in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Services (DEOHS) and Urban Design and Planning.
Lee Thornhill and Dr. Stephanie Farquhar also served as members of Eva's MPH thesis committee.
The study concludes that "Health impact assessments have potential as an influential tool or process to lead better policy and program decisions in criminal justice by contributing to increasing equity and improving health."
