Students in the UW Department of Health Systems and Population Health (HSPop) can obtain concurrent degrees with programs outside the department depending on their HSPop program.

To apply for a concurrent degree program, applicants must apply separately to each program and be admitted to both. Some required materials (such as transcripts or test scores) may be used for both applications.

Master of Health Administration Concurrent Degree Options

To apply for a concurrent degree program, applicants must apply separately to each program and be admitted to both. Some required materials (such as transcripts or test scores) may be used for both applications.

Applicants who are applying for a dual degree with the MHA should indicate the concurrent degree program on the supplemental program application form.

Most students submit application materials for concurrent programs at the same time as the MHA application. If an applicant is already enrolled in one of the UW programs listed below (M.D., MBA, or MPA) and wishes to pursue a concurrent MHA, please contact the MHA program office (mhap@uw.edu) for guidance.

Concurrent degree options for MHA students within HSPop are highlighted below.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) | UW Foster School of Business

Overview: The MHA/MBA concurrent degree program is designed to build on the content areas shared by the business and health administration disciplines. Students take courses from both the UW Department of Health Systems and Population Health (HSPop) and the UW Foster School of Business.

Typical Length: 3 years

Applying: Most people apply to the MHA and MBA programs at the same time — the year prior to their desired enrollment.
