SCC Exterior Door Unlocks for After-hour Events

The 2nd floor north exterior doors at the South Campus Center are now on the Campus Automated Access Management System (CAAMS), therefore after-hour events are now permitted. To arrange exterior door unlocks for your event at the SCC, you must indicate that your event falls outside of building hours in your roomQ request or you may reply to your reservation confirmation requesting this service. Click here to see the locations and door codes for the exterior doors that can be unlocked for your event.

The remaining exterior doors of the SCC are manually locked and unlocked by staff. If you prefer to have these doors unlocked during your after-hours event, additional staff must be requested and coordinated for a supplementary fee. This service may be required for after-hours events at the SCC Terrace. Please have further discussion with HSRR staff for other options. All rooms are kept unlocked. Please contact HSRR for room availability.


AV and Event Support in SCC

HSRR provides support and equipment rental for events that occur in the South Campus Center only. To request assistance or additional equipment for your event, please send HSRR an email at hsbrooms@uw.edu or include this information in the Special Instructions field of your roomQ request.

General Room Information for SCC

All rooms (excluding the SCC lobby, Portage Bay area, and SCC 316B Kitchenette) have installed LCD projectors, projection screens, and overhead projectors on carts. All SCC spaces do not have active phone lines. Please refer to the room matrix for photos and additional information.

The furniture in all SCC spaces can be rearranged to better suit your event’s needs. However you must return the tables and chairs to their original configuration, which are outlined in the room layout diagrams found in each space. Failure to do so may result in room reset fees. HSRR staff is available to provide specific furniture setup and take down when it is requested at least two weeks prior to the event date, for a fee. Contact HSRR for more information.


SCC Special Event Spaces

Special event spaces at South Campus Center include the Crow’s Nest (room 354), sub-Crow’s Nest (room 254), Portage Bay area, SCC 3rd floor lobby, SCC 316, SCC 320B Kitchenette (connected to SCC 316), and the Terrace on the 2nd floor. These spaces are ideal for receptions, product shows, poster sessions, and celebrations. For photos and more information, please refer to the room matrix.


SCC Special Event Containers

Food is allowed in all of the spaces at South Campus Center. However, it is mandatory that special event waste, compost, and/or recycling containers are reserved for your event; otherwise additional fees will be assessed. Existing waste containers found throughout the building may not be used for your event. To reserve special event containers, you will need to indicate this on your roomQ request. If you already have a confirmed reservation, reply simply to your reservation confirmation to request the special event containers. There is a charge for these special event containers.
