Mellon Foundation hasawarded the University of Chicago funding for a new program of UniversityPost-Doctoral Fellowships. The Department of Philosophy together with theCommittee on Conceptual and Historical Studies of Science (CHSS) seekcandidates for this fellowship in the areas of the philosophy or historyand philosophy of the natural sciences and/or mathematics. This is apossible appointment; Philosophy and CHSS must compete with other unitsfor the right to offer this position. Appointment will be joint in thetwo units and lasts for two academic years. The recipient of thisPostdoctoral Fellowship will have received his or her Ph.D. within thefive academic years previous to the first year of the award. Therecipient will teach two quarter-length courses of his or her devisingper year at the undergraduate or beginning graduate level. The recipientwill strongly be encouraged to pursue his or her research interests whileat the University. E0/AAE. Women and minorities are urged to apply.
