Philosophy of Science Faculty Position

We seek qualified candidates with strong undergraduate teaching interests for a Regular Faculty position in the philosophy of science to teach a variety of interdisciplinary, team-taught programs. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in philosophy of science with significant background in mathematics, physics, chemistry, or laboratory biology at the bachelor's or master's level. Regardless of field, we seek candidates with sufficient mathematical background to contribute math-related teaching to team taught general education offerings. The candidate should be capable of working closely with science faculty in delivering science content as well as integrating the teaching of philosophy of science and ethics into the curriculum. In addition, the candidate should be able to develop programs with both science and non-science faculty aimed at beginning students or other students wishing to develop familiarity with the sciences and their philosophical, historical, ethical, and social context. Review of complete applications starts January 4, 2002.
