History of Science. Florida State University invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track or tenured position in the History of Science. Our ad in the October issue of Perspectives specifies the full-professor level, but we are broadening the search to consider candidates at all ranks (except instructor). Appointment at any level will be tenure-track, with the possibility of tenure for someone at the full-professor level with a distinguished record. Candidates at the full and associate level must have an outstanding record of publication and teaching. This is a continuation of a search previously announced. Candidates for appointment at the assistant level must have successfully defended the doctoral dissertation by February 1, 2002, and should have teaching experience and publications. Candidates at any level must have a strong commitment to direct graduate students. The person we seek will play a key role in establishing a program in the History and Philosophy of Science. Consideration of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
