Public Historian

Heritage Research, Ltd.

Responsibilities: Depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate, this is an entry/mid-level position. The historian will be expected to assist on--or direct--projects that focus on cultural resource management, business history and historical research for the legal community. Initial duties will include conducting research, writing narratives, providing historical interpretation and editing.

Qualifications: In addition to being an ambitious self-starter, candidates should have an M.A. or Ph.D. in history and be committed to the value of history and its role outside of academia. Cultural resource management (historic preservation) and/or business history experience is helpful, but not required. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to research, write and edit well. The ability to work effectively alone or as part of a small group is mandatory.
