Producing and Consuming Natures SECOND CALL FOR POSTERS We have now extended the deadline for poster proposals for the annual conference of the American Society for Environmental History scheduled for March 20-23, 2002 in Denver, Colorado. (Website: http://www2.h-net.msu.edu/~environ/ASEH2002-2.htm) The theme of the conference is "Producing and Consuming Natures." The conference seeks to explore the various ways humans have historically drawn nature into their lives--through working and imagining, devouring and debating, transforming and transporting it. Posters offer a unique opportunity for visual presentation of scholarly work outside the traditional panel formats at ASEH conferences. We welcome poster proposals on current research in any area of environmental history, its pedagogy and its applications to policy. We particularly encourage proposals from students. Posters should be planned for one of two sizes: either 88" wide x 40" tall or 44" x 40". Lettering should be readable at a distance (Titles = 1.25"; text = 0.25" recommended). All presenters must register for the conference. To Apply: Submit an abstract of no more than 250 words. Along with the abstract include (1) the title, author(s), affiliation(s), address, telephone and FAX numbers, and email address, and (2) a resume of 1- 2 pages. Abstracts will be reviewed for content and appropriateness. Successful applicants will receive detailed exhibit guidelines and time schedules. Submissions may be made by email, fax, or letter. Please do not send additional materials or exceed word or page limits. Proposals should be postmarked no later than December 31, 2001. Please send to:
