Personnel Changes at The University of Oklahoma

Katherine Pandora (University of Oklahoma) has been awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professor of the History of Science. During 2001-2002, she will be on sabbatical leave of absence at Harvard University, where she will hold a Charles Warren Center Fellowship.

Hunter Crowther-Heyck (Ph.D., Johns Hopkins University) has been appointed Assistant Professor of the History of Science at the University of Oklahoma.

The Department of the History of Science at the University of Oklahoma announces the appointments of two Rockefeller Foundation Postdoctoral Fellows for 2001-2002: Ihsan Fazlioglu (Istanbul University), who will pursue his project, "Reconsidering the Response of Ottoman Scholars to Early Modern European Science, 1600-1800"; and John Walbridge (University of Indiana in Bloomington), for his project, "Rationalism in the Islamic Seminaries."

Katherine Tredwell (M.A., University of Oklahoma) has been awarded the 2001-2002 DeGolyer Presidential Fellowship in the History of Science. The DeGolyer Fellowship commemorates the contributions of alumnus Everette L. DeGolyer, whose collection of rare books in the history of science formed the core of the History of Science Collections at the University of Oklahoma. Previous recipients of the DeGolyer Fellowship were Kimberly Perez (1997-1998), Cheryl R. Smith (1998-1999), Gary Kroll (1999-2000) and Maureen McCormick (2000-2001).

Christine Keiner (Ph.D., Johns Hopkins University) has been appointed Visiting Assistant Professor of the History of Science, The University of Oklahoma, for the 2001-2002 academic year.

JoAnn Palmeri (Ph.D., University of Oklahoma) has been appointed Visiting Assistant Professor of the History of Science, The University of Oklahoma, for the 2001-2002 academic year.
