Why Do We Care...about the number of SIDS deaths in Multnomah County?

By pinpointing SIDS as the leading cause of death in children, ages 28 days to 1 year, in Multnomah County, we can educate parents on ways to prevent SIDS. For example, the Multnomah County's Back to Sleep program promoted placing babies on their backs when they slept, feet to the foot of the crib, as one strategy to decrease SIDS deaths.
