Ms. Maharjan is a nursing lecturer, nurse manager, and researcher at Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences in <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW265400721 BCX0\" data-ccp-charstyle=\"m_7017375629430695141normaltextrun\">Dhulikhel<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW265400721 BCX0\" data-ccp-charstyle=\"m_7017375629430695141normaltextrun\">, Nepal. She has over 9 years of experience in clinical management, prevention, and research on cardiometabolic diseases. Ms. Maharjan co-leads multiple research projects on cardiometabolic diseases at the community level under the Department of Research and Development. She has led a NIH funded four-year research training project titled, \u201cTranslational research capacity building initiative to address cardiovascular diseases in Nepal.\u201d Ms. Maharjan will explore the role of social determinants in the control of hypertension among participants of <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW265400721 BCX0\" data-ccp-charstyle=\"m_7017375629430695141normaltextrun\">Dhulikhel<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW265400721 BCX0\" data-ccp-charstyle=\"m_7017375629430695141normaltextrun\"> Heart Study, a longitudinal cohort study of more than 2500 patients at <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW265400721 BCX0\" data-ccp-charstyle=\"m_7017375629430695141normaltextrun\">Dhulikhel<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW265400721 BCX0\" data-ccp-charstyle=\"m_7017375629430695141normaltextrun\"> Hosp. In addition to patient and provider components, this study will also assess the existing gender gap in hypertension awareness and control. This study will have both quantitative and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW265400721 BCX0\" data-ccp-charstyle=\"m_7017375629430695141normaltextrun\">qualitative components.
