{"id":1093,"date":"2024-02-07T11:16:38","date_gmt":"2024-02-07T19:16:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/iartp\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=1093"},"modified":"2024-02-07T12:12:43","modified_gmt":"2024-02-07T20:12:43","slug":"hellen-moraa-okinyi-bsn","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/iartp\/profile\/hellen-moraa-okinyi-bsn\/","title":{"rendered":"Hellen Moraa Okinyi, BSN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"TextRun Highlight MacChromeBold SCXW90172473 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">Hellen Moraa<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">Okinyi<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\"><strong>, BSN,<\/strong>\u202f<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun Highlight SCXW90172473 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">is an MPH student in the INTEGRATE\/IARTP Program at the University of Washington<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\"> (UW)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">, funded by the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">NIH\/<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">Fogarty International Center.\u202fShe started her research career at the University of Nairobi\/Kenyatta National Hospital<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\"> (KNH)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\"> as a study coordinator for the Optimizing HIV-1 therapy (OPH) and Pediatric urgent start of HAART (PUSH) trials.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"TextRun Highlight SCXW90172473 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">Currently <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">Ms. Moraa<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\"> works as a coordinator for a HOPE study and oversees study activities in seven sites. She also supports several qualitative studies through planning and undertaking data collection and analysis.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"TextRun Highlight SCXW90172473 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90172473 BCX0\">Her research interests include improving pediatric and adolescent HIV outcomes and scalable mental health interventions. In her current work with the HOPE study, one of the objectives of the study is to develop a neurodevelopment and mental health population-based screening package for HIV-exposed uninfected children and adolescents.
