Dr.<\/span> Cynthia <\/span>Pauline Aluoch <\/span>Auma<\/span>, MBChB<\/span><\/strong>,<\/strong> <\/span><\/span>is an MPH student in the Women and HIV\/IARTP Program at the University of Washington<\/span> (UW)<\/span>, funded by the Fogarty International Center. She started her professional career as the resident medical officer at a large private hospital and moved on to work as a senior medical officer in the public service<\/span> where she <\/span>serv<\/span>ed<\/span> diverse populations in both rural and urban public facilities. <\/span>Dr<\/span>.<\/span> Auma<\/span> currently works as a clinical research scientist at <\/span><\/span>the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), Centre for Microbiology Research in Kisumu. In this <\/span>capacity<\/span>, she has served as a study coordinator\/co-investigator on multiple implementation science studies and clinical trials including: the <\/span>MOVe<\/span> AHEAD study – evaluating efficacy and safety of <\/span>Molnupiravir<\/span> as COVID-19 prophylaxis;<\/span> the INSIGHT study \u2013 evaluating young African women\u2019s <\/span>PrEP<\/span> preferences as well as in Pharmacy <\/span>PrEP<\/span> studies – evaluating <\/span>PrEP<\/span> delivery in pharmacies. <\/span><\/span>Her research interests focus on<\/span><\/span> biomedical and behavioral interventions for HIV prevention among young African women<\/span><\/span>.
