Cavernous weathering, Dry Valleys, Antarctica. A common type of rock breakdown seen in the Dry Valleys where the bottom of rocks weather more rapidly, this typically occurs on course grained rocks such as the granite boulders here. Wind has also led to the ventifacted surfaces.
