Dr. Singh’s research is focused on bacterial biofilms and the role these bacterial groups play in human infections. Areas of active research in the Singh lab include: 1. Mechanism of bacterial detachment from biofilms. 2. Genetic variation induced by biofilm growth. 3. The use of gallium as a therapeutic agent against biofilm infections. 4. Modeling biofilm development in human sputum. 5. Mechanisms of biofilm-mediated antibiotic resistance. He collaborates with Drs. Burns and E. Greenberg.
