The Instrument Development Lab designed and constructed a heater to maintain a constant temperature inside a microscope booth. Proportional control of the heater is done through a commercially available temperature controller.

Vent hoses go from each end to the booth, and a temperature probe is placed in the booth. |
The controller takes input from a thermocouple and sends proportional duty cycle pulses to an SSR, which passes power to the heating element. |
