UW SECURITY CURRICULUM

    IGRSS  is currently developing a Security Studies curriculum at the University of Washington.  Although an official program of study has not been finalized, a list of the courses which may be included is available.  Please check the UW Time Schedule for the latest information on individual courses.

SIS 425—International Law and Arms Control

     Topics covered in this course include the beginnings of arms control, chemical and biological weapons, the SALT and ABM treaties, the Reagan revolution, the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the Arms Control and Disarmament Treaty (ACDA), and democracies and international security.
    Ambassador Graham is the President of the Lawyers Alliance for World Security (LAWS).  He served as the Special Representative of the President for Arms Control, Non-Proliferation, and Disarmament from 1994-1997 and led U.S. Government efforts to achieve a permanent Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) leading up to and during the 1995 Review and Extension Conference of the NPT.
