Two IHART Fellows Invited to Present at Division of AIDS Research

Annie Belcourt, PhD, and Daniel Dickerson, D.O., both 2012 Fellows, presented their research projects at a September meeting convened by the NIMH Division of AIDS Research to discuss “Research Career Development for New HIV/AIDS Investigators From Diverse Backgrounds.”

Dr. Belcourt is Assistant Professor, School of Public and Community Health Sciences, University of Montana, and her planned area of research is to culturally adapt and assess a behavioral intervention that would address posttraumatic stress, sexual health, and substance abuse within American Indian communities.

Dr. Dickerson is Assistant Research Psychiatrist, Integrated Substance Abuse Programs University of California, Los Angeles, and his research project proposes to fully develop and pretest a culturally-tailored HIV/AIDS prevention strategy, Red Circle Project (RCP), for AI/ANs at risk for HIV/AIDS.
