Getting Credit for International Rotations

Are you spending a minimum of 5 weeks overseas? If yes, skip to the instructions below. If not, you are not eligible to register through IP&E. You are not eligible for the tuition waiver for the duration of your away clerkship. You are only required to complete a "Credit for Clerkship Away" form in order to earn course credit. The "Credit for Clerkship Away" form can be obtained in A-300 by making an appointment with Trudy Furberry or Elsa Binag.

FAQs

* How does registering with IP&E impact on the course registration process? You will initially be registered for FSTDY 300. Upon your return from your International Health Elective or other international health rotation, you will provide evaluations of your performance to Constance Lamb, Elsa Binag or Trudy Furberry. They will insure that the appropriate course number will be substituted for FSTDY 300 and that you will receive a grade for your rotation. They will also provide your course number and grade to IP&E. The course number, credits and grades should be recorded on this form. This form should be submitted to , IP&E, 4th floor Schmitz Hall.

* Why should I register with the Office for International Programs and Exchanges? By registering with International Programs and Exchanges Office (4th floor Schmitz Hall), you will be exempt from paying tuition for the duration of your clerkship while still enjoying the benefits of being registered as a full-time student at the University of Washington. All you will pay is a $200 IPE fee.
