Climbing Classes

Orientation

$15; includes 2 hours of instruction, all equipment, and belay exam fee

Our instructors will coach you through the basics of climbing indoors. Topics include climbing equipment, knot tying, and our endorsed belay techniques. The class meets for one evening session and will prepare you for the belay exam.

To reserve a spot, you must pre-register at the Indoor Climbing Center of the Programs Office at the IMA.

Women on Rock

$20; includes 2 evening sessions, all equipment, and belay exam fee

4-12 students per class

This multi-session course is designed for women wanting to learn the fundamentals of climbing. In the first session you learn to climb safely in the gym. Our instructors will coach you through the basics of climbing indoors. Topics include climbing equipment, knot tying, and our endorsed belay techniques. Second session includes an introduction to the fundamentals of climbing technique. Undoubtedle the best climbing class in Seattle!!!

Next Step

$45; includes 16 hours of instruction and all equipment for class

Over the course of four weeks with two sessions per week, our instructors will help you build your climbing move repertoire. Topics will include bouldering technique, roped climbing technique, mental training, and a healthy dose of practice!

To reserve a spot you must pre-register at the Indoor Climbing Center or the Program Office at the IMA.

Intro to Sport Climbing

$35; includes 6 hours of instruction, all equipment necessary for class, and a lead climbing exam.

4-8 students per class

This course will instruct you on proper lead techniques for our climbing gym, while imparting the basic knowlege of climbing outside. Work with coaches on clipping quickdraws, falling, belaying, cleaning, sport anchor-building, and most importantly staying safe. This class meets for three evening sessions, and will prepare you for the lead belay exam.
