A: Yes. With the exception of the NRecon Server reconstruction software that uses networked computers to convert the raw scan data into readable files, all other Skyscan software, including NRecon [basic], CTan, CTvol and Dataviewer, can be downloaded from the Skyscan website (www.skyscan.be/products/downloads.htm) and run on your own laptop or desktop PC (or Mac running Parallels, VMfusion or Bootcamp). CTvol and DataViewer do not have any license restrictions, but the full version of CTan requires co-installation of an Institutional license file. This license file can be requested by email. Manuals on each of the different software are available in pdf format. The Bioptonics Viewer and Analyze can only be used in-house. RapidForm is licensed in-house but we have purchased multiple additional associated licenses for those of you wishing to use it on your own computers. Please see SANTA staff if you are interested in using RapidForm on your own computer. Drishti is available free to users.http://www.skyscan.be/products/downloads.htmlmailto:image3d@u.washington.edu?subject=CTan%20license%20requestshapeimage_4_link_0shapeimage_4_link_1
A: The costs vary depending on your Institutional affiliation, training, and level of assistance needed. These charges are summarized in the current Fee Structure (downloadable from the “Forms” page). Special rates and access can be negotiated by PIs who wish to gather pilot data for grant applications or wish to undertake studies in collaboration with members of the Craniofacial Center. Initial requests for consideration and proposals should be made by email.
