Posted 3/3/08: POSTDOCTORAL POSITION FOR THE STUDY OF IMMUNE CHANGES MADE BY OBESITY
A postdoctoral position is available for an individual well trained in immunology to include molecular biology and biochemistry. Our laboratory is beginning a series of studies to better define the changes obesity makes in the immune defense system and inflammatory responses. The subjects for study will include mobidly obese humans and the overfed mouse. Each trainee will have their own independent research project , some of which can eventually be used to establish their own research program. The trainee will also have an opportunity to work with other immunologists, nutritionists and MDs, becoming a part of a team of investigators being developed at Michigan State University for obesity research.
