The aim of the IMSD program is to fight the diminsishing enrollment rate of underrepresented students in the sciences through a comprehensive program of services and activities. So how can IMSD help fulfill your needs?

    Undergraduate Years

  • "BOOT CAMP" for incoming freshman and transfer students.
  • Academic advising and counseling
  • Introductory preparatory coursework in science, mathematics and writing
  • Mentored undergraduate research opportunities (Stipends = $1,200/month during summer or academic year)
  • Class clustering to decrease isolation
  • PEER MENTOR MATCH Program

    Professional/Graduate Years

  • Orientation Programs for incoming graduate and/or professional students
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES will provide information concerning skills related to successful advancement in research and clinical areas.
  • Travel funds for graduate/professional students to present their research
