This lab is designed to acquaint the user with the Balmer computer lab facilities and IS 300 lab procedures.  This lab will review the following:

       1)  Basic Computer usage
      2)  Review of Balmer computer facilities and UW e-mail system
      3)  Introduction to Zip files
      4)  Internet review
      5)  Assignment #1  --  Internet search, Excel file, Zip file, Email

Part I  --  Computer Review 

Part II  --  In-class exercise:  Downloading, zip file manipulation, email attachment, and email transmission.

Part III  --  Assignment #1

• Download the tutorial for ASSIGNMENT #1
• Due at the beginning of Lab 2.

You will likely need to spend additional time (beyond the lab) to complete this lab session.  Depending on your prior experience with Windows 2000/NT and browser, you might want to review a Windows 2000 Tutorial.
