Application and Admission

It is very important that you follow the application process carefully to ensure that you have secured a place in the ISAYA program. Please contact ISAYA staff with any questions you may have about your application. We will continue to accept applications until the program is full, but priority will be given to early applicants.

Admission is competitive. Please apply early to allow for possible delays in getting your visa.

To Apply

  1. Review the Timeline and Checklist.
  2. Request the Application Packet.

    • The application requires to you respond to three short-answer questions regarding why you are interested in studying in the ISAYA Institute and how it relates to your academic goals, provide your personal contact information, and provides the payment options for the application fee.

  3. In your application packet, include the following required items:
    •   •  nonrefundable application fee of $50
    •   •  copy of your most recent academic transcript
    •   •  a letter of sponsorship or bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover the:
    •        application fee, program fee and estimated living expenses
    •        (Bank statements must be dated December or later)
    •   •  copy of the page in your passport with your picture, name, and birth date
    •        For F-2 dependent(s) enclose a copy of their passport(s)
    •   •  copy of your TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS or PTE score report

    For the TOEIC, all applicants must submit scores for the Listening & Reading (L&R) test. The Speaking & Writing (S&W) test is also required for Cascade applicants and recommended for Olympic applicants.

Applications are processed monthly, so please allow up to 20 business days to process your application.

  1. If accepted, you will receive instructions by email on how to submit your Deposit and Express Mail Fee. Upon payment of these fees, you will be sent a Visa Eligibility Form (I-20).
  2. After you receive the Visa Eligibility From (I-20), contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate to schedule an F-1 visa interview appointment.
  3. Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee ($200).
  4. Take your I-20 and supporting documents to the interview.

Admission to ISAYA does not constitute or guarantee formal admission to the University of Washington.

Application Fee: $50 USD
I-20 Express Mail Fee: $40 USD
Deposit: $1,500 USD (will be credited toward your Program Fee)

Estimated Living Expenses: $4,614 USD per quarter
Estimated Textbooks: $200 USD per quarter

All fees are nonrefundable unless otherwise stated. Financial statements must demonstrate an ability to cover program and living expenses.

Program fee includes tuition, orientation week, weekly coffee hours to meet staff and ask questions, and an awards ceremony dinner  at the end of the program to honor your achievements.  At the awards ceremony, you will receive a program memento, completion award, and a group photo.
