It is very important that you follow the application process carefully to ensure that you have secured a place in the ISAYA program. Please contact ISAYA staff with any questions you may have about your application. We will continue to accept applications until the program is full, but priority will be given to early applicants.
Admission is competitive. Please apply early to allow for possible delays in getting your visa.
To Apply
- Review the Timeline and Checklist.
- Download and complete the Application Packet.
- In your application packet, include the following required items:
- • nonrefundable application fee of $50
- • copy of your most recent academic transcript
- • letter of financial guarantee and/or sponsorship showing sufficient funds to cover the:
- application fee, program fee and estimated living expenses.
- • copy of the page in your passport with your picture, name, and birth date.
- For F-2 dependent(s) enclose a copy of their passport(s)
- • copy of your TOEFL, TOEIC*, or PTE score report

*For the TOEIC, all applicants must submit scores for the Listening & Reading (L&R) test. The Speaking & Writing (S&W) test is also required for Cascade applicants and recommended for Olympic applicants.

Applications are processed monthly, so please allow up to 20 business days to process your application.
- If accepted, you will receive instructions by email on how to submit your Deposit and Express Mail Fee. Upon payment of these fees, you will be sent a Visa Eligibility Form (I-20).
- After you receive the Visa Eligibility From (I-20), contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate to schedule an F-1 visa interview appointment.
- Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee ($200).
- Take your I-20 and supporting documents to the interview.
Admission to ISAYA does not constitute or guarantee formal admission to the University of Washington.

Application Fee: $50 USD
I-20 Express Mail Fee: $40 USD
Deposit: $1,500 USD (will be credited toward your Program Fee)
Program Fee for Spring and Autumn 2012 cycles:
Cascade Division: $16,900 USD
Olympic Division: $15,100 USD
Estimated Living Expenses: $7,750 USD
Estimated Textbooks: $600 USD ($300 per quarter)
All fees are nonrefundable unless otherwise stated. Financial statements must demonstrate an ability to cover program and living expenses.
