Beth Kolko is a professor in this department, she has an interesting project that is conducting research in Central Asia studying how culture, policy, and infrastructure affect people’s usage of information and communication technologies.

They have lots of special topics in the 598 and 599 series, but descriptions of the classes are difficult to track down, as they are not posted until the professor sends a description to the department. The only alternative is to look quarter by quarter for each year to see if the course has been taught previously, or email the instructor directly.
