The Journal of Japanese Studies is published by the Society for Japanese Studies, a 501(c)(3) corporation. The members of the corporation are the members of the Board of Trustees, which is elected at its annual meeting held in the spring. The Board may hold additional meetings as needed to conduct the business of the Society, including operations of the Journal, financial matters, and other procedural business.
The Society for Japanese Studies is committed to diversity of participants and perspectives in its endeavors and to equitable opportunities for all who study Japan. It values greater inclusivity and a multiplicity of voices, and it seeks to dismantle systematic barriers that persist in scholarly publishing.
