My research interests focus on the developmental plasticity of poecilogonous polychaetes (Spionids) and the role here of ecology and evolution. My interests are broad and integrate Conservation Biology, Scientific Illustration and Philosophy of Science – a combination of fields within which these groups, Polchaetes and Invertebrates in general, are usually underrepresented. I have recently spent some time in Friday Harbor Laboratories exploring the fascinating world of larvae, embryology and worms. At the moment I am writing my thesis proposal which will focus upon Spionids of the West Coast of North America and of Chile, my home country.
