Volunteer with Jumpstart at Read for the Record

On October 3rd 2013 millions of adults and children read Otis by Loren Long, as part of Jumpstart’s national campaign to raise awareness about the importance of early childhood education and to support its mission to work towards the day that every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.  Every year, Jumpstart sets a new world record by mobilizing adults and children across the country to read the same book on the same day.

In Seattle, our Jumpstart Team Leaders and Community Volunteers read and delivered books to over nearly 200 children at our partner preschools.   It was a great start to the academic year and a successful event!
