Ellen has worked with English language learner populations for 16 years in San Francisco, CA, Helsinki, Finland, and Seattle, WA. She has worked with students and teachers grades K-12 and currently works as Manager of ELL, Title I, and LAP in the Shoreline School District. She has worked on various state committees, including the ELD Standards Writing Team. Ellen has conducted professional development at the school, district, and state level. Her research interests focus on the development of academic language with ELL students in mainstream classrooms. She has taught ESL Methods, ESL Assessment, and Content ESL at the University of Washington.
