Upcoming Capstone Defenses
We are excited to announce that the 4th cohort of the College of Education’s Leadership for Learning (L4L) Program will publicly present their culminating doctoral portfolios on March 3rd, April 21st, and May 19th, 2012. The culminating "capstone portfolio" contains evidence of academic scholarship and innovative leadership actions that doctoral students have produced and publically vetted throughout their 3-4 year course of study.
The capstone portfolio is based on five program standards, which cohere around a primary Leadership for Learning goal: to prepare capable system-level leaders whose practice is informed by inquiry, anchored in a commitment to equity, and focused on the improvement of teaching and learning in dynamic and demanding environments. Drawing primarily on coursework, projects, internships, and leadership activities, presentations will highlight what doctoral candidates have accomplished in relation to program standards.
Each culminating presentation will be vetted before a panel of university faculty, system-level leaders, and Leadership for Learning peers. Please contact Brieanne Hull at bmc83@uw.edu or 206-221-3468 if you would like to join us for this significant opportunity to learn from influential leaders and scholars of practice.
