Image Storage on the Confocals

Each confocal has a large drive for temporary storage of image files while you are working on the instrument. I will check these drives periodically and delete any files over one month old. Any image files found in other locations on these computers will be deleted without warning at a cost of $20 per instance.

Leica SP1/Multi-photon:

Store your images on the H: drive while you are working, then transfer to your lab's folder on Keckstorage or the Zip drive (E:) when you are finished (leave yourself time for the transfer!). You have a shortcut to Keckstorage on your desktop and another one on the start menu.

Alternatively, you can save your images directly to Keckstorage, though this may be slower than saving directly to the H: drive. Click here for instructions.

Leica SL:

Store your images on the D: drive while you are working, then transfer to your lab's folder on Keckstorage, to a flash drive (you supply) or burn them to CD when you are finished (leave yourself time for the transfer!). You have a shortcut to Keckstorage on your desktop and another one on the start menu.

Zeiss LSM 510 META:

Store your images on the D(AIM DATA): drive while you are working, then transfer to your lab's folder on Keckstorage, to a flash drive (you supply) or burn them to CD when you are finished (leave yourself time for the transfer!). You have a shortcut to Keckstorage on your desktop and another one on the start menu.

DO NOT try and store images directly to Keckstorage! The system will crash.
