To make a shortcut to your KeckStorage folder appear under “My Network Places”
1)
From the Start Menu, select “My Network Places”
2) On the left side of the “My Network Places” window, select “Add
a network place”.
3) Click “Next”.
4) Make sure “Choose another network location” is highlighted, then
click “Next”.
5) Under “Internet or network address:” type \\128.95.245.42\Users\***** where ***** is
your Username and click “Next”. 6)
If you are prompted, enter your username and password and click “Next”.
7) Change the name of the network place to: “ ***** on
keckstorage”
and click “Next”.
8) The next dialog box should say “You have successfully created this
network place”. Click “Finish”.
On Winows VISTA Computers:
1) From the Start Menu, select “Computer”.
2) Right click anywhere in the background of the “Computer” window
and select “Add a Network Location”.
3) Click “Next”.
4) Select “Choose a custom network location” and click “Next”.
5) Under “Internet or network address:” type \\128.95.245.42\Users\***** where ***** is
your Username and click “Next”. 6) If you are prompted, enter your
username and password and click “Next”.
7) Change the name of the network place to: “ ***** on
keckstorage”
and click “Next”.
8) The next dialog box should say “Completing the Add Network Location
Wizard”. Click “Finish”.
On Win2000 Computers:
To make a shortcut to your KeckStorage folder appear under “My Network Places”
1)
Open Windows Explorer, either from the desktop or from the Start --> Programs
--> Accessories menu.
2) On the left side of the window, click “My Network Places”.
3) On the right side of the window, double click “Add Network Place”.
4) Under
“Internet or network address:” type \\128.95.245.42\Users\***** where ***** is
your Username and click “Next”. 5)Change
the name of the network place to: “ ***** on keckstorage” and click
“Finish”.
6) If
you are prompted, enter your username and password and click “OK”.
On Macintosh computers:
Use the same Username and password as you use for logging onto the Keck Center computers. If you don't know what it is, ask Greg
