Please note that assisted use does not mean you are charged for asking me for help. It is always better to ask a question than to waste time or possibly damage something! -- Greg.
Assisted use rates will be charged if I'm teaching you something new.
The Keck Center is subsidized by the departments of Physiology & Biophysics and Pharmacology. Researchers in those departments are charged only the "Trained Users" rate for training or assisted use.
Confocal Microscopes:
Trained Users: $ 36 / hour
Training/Assisted Use: $ 112 / hour
Confocal training is typically two 2-hour sessions.
Discounted rate for long-term experiments: $15 / hour.
This rate will be applied to use between 6pm and 9am, or anytime during the weekend, for imaging sessions lasting at least 6 hours.
DeltaVision-RT Live Cell Microscope
Trained Users: $ 32 / hour
Training/Assisted Use: $ 122 / hour
Training is typically a 3-hour session.
Discounted rate for long-term experiments: $18 / hour.
This rate will be applied to use between 6pm and 9am, or anytime during the weekend, for imaging sessions lasting at least 6 hours.
DeltaVision
Trained Users: $ 20 / hour
Training/Assisted Use: $ 110 / hour
Training is typically a 3-hour session.
Wide-field Microscopes
Trained Users: $ 13 / hour.
Assisted Use/Training: $ 149 / hour.
Training is typically a half-hour session or less.
$ 13/ hour - no charge for images collected with Keck Center microscopes.
