We're pleased to feature a new keyword essay, written and developed in the Keywords Collaboratory. This essay on the keyword “culture” was created in a graduate course, “ Formations of Cultural Studies” at the Univerisity of Washington Bothell in Autumn 2008. The original assignment asked students to archive usages of their chosen term — in course readings and discussions, public lectures and mass media, and everyday life. At the midterm and end of the course, students submitted their keywords entries. This entry is a revision of the final submission by Jeremy Richards.
