Abby R. O'Connor
Abby grew up in the wonderful garden state of New Jersey. She went to Lafayette College in Easton, PA (home of the Crayola factory) and did undergraduate research with Dr. Chip Nataro. In 2003, Abby moved to sunny, muggy Chapel Hill, NC where she became a huge UNC basketball fan. Go HEELS! She completed her PhD with Dr. Maurice Brookhart in March of 2008. Abby joined the group as a postdoc in July 2008 and is working on converting carbohydrates to useful chemicals. In addition to chemistry, Abby enjoys cooking, working out, and watching the Giants play some football!
