Drew Zwart

Drew Zwart is currently working on a Ph.D. with Dr. Kim and is interested in the interactions of abiotic stress with biotic pathogens in the planned landscape and urban forest.  Specifically, Drew is investigating in the effects of two common abiotic stresses (salinity and nutrient imbalance) on plant physiology and defense responses, specifically in relation to root rots and cankers caused by Phytophthora spp.   Drew will also be investigating the potential use of fungal endophytes to confer stress resistance in landscape tree species.  Drew holds a B.S. in Agronomy from Cornell University, an M.S. in Plant Pathology and Physiology from Clemson University.
