John Cornethan report on Hiring Discrimination, September 28, 1966

CORE collected reports of racial discrimination in hiring, firing, and promotion. This is an interview with the chairman of CORE, John Cornethan, who was turned down for a job opening advertised as "equal opportunity," despite his qualifications. Seattle often had very progressive laws regarding racial equality, but they were -- as in this case -- not often enforced.
