Clinical assay interference and limitations
Antithrombin III [AT3]
Method: Stago Chromogenic Antithrombin Assay
Patients on hirudin (Refludan) and argatroban (Novastan) may show interference due to the direct thrombin inhibition. This may cause an over-estimation of the antithrombin concentration. Patients on heparin therapy may see decreased antithrombin concentrations.
