Bleeding Time [BLTS]

Methodology: Organon Teknika Simplate

Interfering Substances:

The Bleeding Time test is intended to detect intrinsic platelet defects.
Other factors affecting bleeding times include the following:

Patient related factors such as age, skin type, skin condition (including edema), skin vascularity and temperature.

Individual technique in the performance of the procedure.

Drugs that affect platelet function.

Platelet counts < 75,000/uL.
